Teresia Kolesnick 2024 Nevada Assembly District 24

About Terisia

Terisia Kolesnick is running as a common sense candidate for the Nevada State Assembly District 24, encompassing much of downtown Reno.
Introduction: Meet Terisia Kolesnick

Hi. I’m Terisia Kolesnick, and I am resident of Reno raised Catholic. I hail from a large family, born as the second of seven children in St. Paul, Minnesota, on September 22, 1953. Growing up, my father, a WWII Marine veteran, instilled in me a deep sense of patriotism and faith. Our family eventually settled in Rio Linda, California, in 1962.

Early Years: Faith, Family, and Patriotism

My priorities in life revolve around my faith, family, and love for our country. I am married with five children and nine grandchildren. As an oil artist and former softball enthusiast, I have a passion for both creativity and sports, although my days of playing softball are behind me now that I’m 70 years old. Over the years, I’ve been actively involved in coaching softball teams and serving as the junior varsity softball coach at Nevada Union High School in Nevada City during my time living in California.

Personal Life: Marriage, Children, and Hobbies

In addition to my artistic and athletic pursuits, I’ve been engaged in community service, including serving on the board of a community workshop in Grass Valley, California, and playing a pivotal role in bringing the PRIDE workshop for the developmentally disabled to Nevada County. I also held the position of president at Reno Sparks Aglow, a community organization. My interests extend to camping, traveling, and football, and I consider myself a practical thinker with a deep love for the USA and a commitment to upholding the US Constitution and the rule of law.

Community Engagement: Art, Athletics, and Service

Recent events have compelled me to step forward and seek election as the assemblywoman for District 24. I felt called to fill the void of leadership in my district and offer myself as a candidate. At 70 years young, with a background in real estate and caregiving, including owning a care home for developmentally disabled adults, I bring a wealth of life experience and a heart for advocating for the marginalized in our society.

Political Engagement: Representing the Least Fortunate Among Us

My platform prioritizes support for children, seniors, the disabled, the homeless, and veterans. I advocate for policies that promote safe housing, reduce crime, address homelessness, support our police force, and improve our education system. Additionally, I am committed to advocating for tax relief for disabled veterans and opposing abortion and gun control measures.

Political Affiliation and Ideological Stance

I am an active member of various political women’s groups who advocate for common sense in the Nevada Assembly. In light of current societal challenges, including rising lawlessness and ideological division, I am deeply concerned about the direction our country is headed. I oppose divisive ideologies that seek to divide us based on perceived power dynamics and in group preference.

Faith and Guiding Principles: A Servant Leader’s Perspective

I am a humble servant of God, striving to make a positive impact in my community and trusting in his guidance. I draw strength from my faith and commitment to serving others. With God by my side, I am confident in my ability to effect common sense reform and stand up for the timeless values that define our nation.
